Groceries & Supplies:

The Kāingaroa Sports & Social Club, a short walk from the Ultimate Hideaway, sells some basic essentials, e.g. milk, butter, bread, etc (subject to availability). The Club's opening hours are usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5-6pm (often closes later) and Saturday 6-11pm.

There are two grocery stores, located in the main town of Waitangi (45 minutes drive from the Chatham Hideaway). Prior to your stay you can provide us with a shopping list of required items, which we can pre-purchase on your behalf and arrange to have delivered to the Chatham Hideaway for your arrival. (We will advise ahead of time any requested items not available locally.)

It is possible to bring your own food and beverages with you on your flight to the Chatham Islands, taking into account airline weight restrictions for baggage.

You can also arrange sea-freight from Timaru or Napier for large or heavy items. Please enquire for more information.

In Waitangi there is also a Post Office and ANZ bank, the Waitangi Hardware store, Waitangi Café, and the only ATM on the island which is located within Hotel Chathams.
